  • Background

We don’t have very many El Salvador coffees. I think we’ve only ever had one released coffee from El Salvador, and that was like a thousand years ago. Herego, we’re really excited to have found this banger! Introducing La Reforma, she’s a lovely natural SL28 from Santa Ana, El Salvador!

This coffee is shipped and handled by El Borbollon. El Borbollon was established by Rafael Alvarez Lalinde, a Colombian settler who brought coffee farming with him when he settled on the lush fertile soil of the Santa Ana volcano. Four generations later, the Alvarez family’s coffee legacy persists.

Helmed by the Alvarez Brothers, the farm maintains high farming standards to produce its exceptional coffees. They invest in sustainable practices, both to create the perfect environment for coffee cultivation, as well as to safeguard their environment. Through intercropping, the native trees create shade and a cooler microclimate to give coffee cherries more time to mature and develop their unique flavours.

Red grapes right off the bat, coupled with the sweetness of poached apples. Everything’s very tartaric and malic, oof absolutely whizzing haha. Then when you least expect it, the sweetness and body of a good whisky shows itself, tapering off to a beautiful lingering finish of butterscotch. Everyday drinking and delicious, we love this coffee so we hope you guys do too!
